Information We Collect

• Account information — name, email address, ZIP code
• Pool data — pool size, pool type, water test results
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, features used, session duration
• Location data — with your permission, used to match you with nearby pool supply stores

How We Use Your Data

• Provide accurate water treatment recommendations tailored to your pool
• Match you with nearby pool supply stores and service professionals
• Improve our chemistry engine and treatment algorithms
• Send promotional notifications from partner stores (opt-in only)

What We Don't Do

• We never sell your personal data
• We never share your full name with stores or pros without your explicit opt-in
• We never store credit card information on our servers — payments are processed by Stripe and Apple/Google
• We never send direct messages from stores to customers

Business Partner Data

Pool supply stores and service professionals who partner with MyPoolGuy have limited access to customer data:

• Stores see anonymized customer data (first name + last initial only)
• Full customer details are only shown with your explicit opt-in, such as requesting servicing from a pro
• Chemical branding and promotional data from stores is stored securely

Data Storage & Security

• PostgreSQL database with encrypted connections
• Authentication tokens stored securely
• Passwords hashed with bcrypt

Your Rights

• Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Export your complete test history
• Opt out of store data sharing
• Disable location services (ZIP code used as fallback for store matching)

Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — powers AI explanations. No personal data is sent to OpenAI; only pool chemistry readings are transmitted.
• Stripe — payment processing for business accounts
• Apple / Google — in-app purchases for consumer subscriptions

Children

MyPoolGuy is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
